Dean Degazio is Director of Autonomy Safety at Bot Auto leading the development and implementation of Bot Auto’s safety case and the safety strategies driving autonomous truck deployments. Bot Auto is an autonomous trucking company, headquartered in Houston, Texas, operating our autonomous truck fleet and offering Transportation as a Service (TaaS) on major trucking networks. This leverages physical AI to drive transformation of the supply chain through a combination of a hyper-focused team, cutting edge computing methodology, and mission-focused growth initiatives with safety assurance at our core. Before working at Bot, Dean had a long career in the automotive, active safety, and automated driving industries including roles in engineering and leadership at General Motors, APTIV, AV companies, and a short period at NHTSA automated driving research. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan (BSE/M.Eng in Engineering and MBA) and currently lives in Pittsburgh, PA.
