Daniel Bartz

Daniel Bartz has spent more than 25 years advancing vehicle automation and robotics across the automotive, defense, and startup sectors. He is currently a Principal Engineer for Automated Driving at Volkswagen Group of America, where he leads activities related to automated vehicle regulations and standards in the U.S. and Canadian markets. Daniel has been an active contributor to industry standards and best-practice development through SAE International's On-Road Automated Driving (ORAD) committees and the Automated Vehicle Safety Consortium (AVSC). He holds bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Kettering University and a master's degree in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University. Daniel also participated in the landmark 2005 and 2007 DARPA Grand Challenge autonomous vehicle competitions.
