Amy Chu is a Senior Safety Manager for Uber’s Autonomous Mobility & Delivery organization, where she leads work at the intersection of autonomous vehicle safety, global industry standards, regulatory policy, and deployment. She oversees partner safety assessment and assurance activities, helps shape Uber’s AV safety framework, and represents Uber in industry standards and safety organizations including AVSC and SAE.
Amy brings nearly two decades of automotive industry experience spanning autonomous vehicle safety, cybersecurity, product development, and industry standards. Prior to joining Uber, she served as Director of the Automated Vehicle Safety Consortium (AVSC), where she led automotive and technology industry stakeholders in developing safety principles and best practices for highly automated vehicles. She previously held automotive cybersecurity leadership roles at Harman, including leading its Automotive Cybersecurity Center of Excellence.
